“A healing, interactive journal for families facing death.”

This is a book about love and living life to the fullest at a time when death is approaching. How we die is as important as how we live. The fear of facing death often manifests in silence between family members and friends. Within our silence, we deny, avoid, resist resolving issues, fail to express loving feelings, and suffer despair. As a result, after the passing of our loved one, our grief issues are much more disabling and long lasting because we are left with regrets and unexpressed feelings.

It’s Not Too Late! is interactive and designed to break through the silence and free the expression of love by bringing into awareness, and then action, what Linda Pendleton and Dr. Fred Bader refer to as the divine traits of love. The love traits are the vehicles for giving love and consist of such things as kindness, joy, forgiveness, compassion, patience, generosity, and encouragement. It’s Not Too Late! is a practical way to identify loving feelings and to then express them in the written form within their book to be shared with family. The book will become an enduring keepsake to be reflected on by surviving family members. It is not too late to begin the healing journey right now!

This book is a gift of love, now and in the future, and should be available to every family facing the loss of a loved one. It encourages people to take positive action now before they find themselves in the position following their loved one’s death of being able to say only, “Now it’s too late. I wish I had told him....” Their book gives the opportunity and the challenge to the reader to say all that needs to be said, and to say it now!

Linda Pendleton and Dr. Fred Bader bring professional expertise to the book, along with their own personal experiences of loss. Dr. Bader is a board-certified therapist and relationship counselor with a professional practice in Connecticut. A pioneer in the field of thanatology, Dr. Bader has specialized in death, dying and afterlife issues for nearly thirty years. Linda Pendleton has written several nonfiction books, including A Walk Through Grief, Crossing the Bridge Between Worlds, which explores her journey through grief, following the death of her husband, author Don Pendleton, and the experiences of others who have lost loved ones.

Linda and Fred believe that It’s Not Too Late! is an important and valuable book that will find its way into hospital intensive care units, hospital gift shops, hospice centers, rest homes, and bedrooms–and all other places families and friends gather during difficult times.

Internationally renowned psychiatrist and thanatologist, Dr. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, in her extensive death and dying studies and teachings, always reminds us that the clearing up of “unfinished business” not only makes the dying process more peaceful for the patient but also affects the grief healing process for those left behind. With the journaling that It’s Not Too Late! encourages, loving feelings will be reinforced and expressed, and often regrets are resolved, and forgiveness will result, and all that “unfinished business” will be finished.

Linda and Fred encourage every family to open their hearts, pick up a pen and allow the love to flow, for with that expression comes peace and healing.

“ So sad as an R.N., to see family that can’t talk openly
and lovingly about dying. This journal can open a new
dialogue to ensure a peaceful passing of your loved one.”
– Nancy T., R.N.
